Fear of success and its relationship to perfectionism among wrestling players in Minya Governorate

The current study aimed to identify the nature of the correlation between fear of success and perfectionism among wrestling players in Minya Governorate, as well as the significance of the differences between players in both fear of success and perfectionism, which may be attributed to the gender variable. The researcher used the descriptive approach (survey method), and included a community Research on wrestling players, numbering (150) players in Minya Governorate. The researcher chose the research sample intentionally as a basic sample, and it was (100) players whose ages ranged from (16: 18) years, and they represent (66.7%) of the research community. It included tools The study on the fear of success scale (prepared by the researcher), and the perfectionism scale for athletes prepared by Gotwals & Dunn (2009) Gotwals & Dunn Arabization by Hassan Abdo (2017), and the results of the study resulted in a statistically significant positive correlation between the fear of success and the dimensions of (fears about making mistakes, doubts about actions, perceived parental pressure, perceived coach pressure) and the total degree of perfectionism among wrestling players. It also resulted in the presence of statistically significant differences between male and female wrestling players in the dimensions (personal standards, system) of the perfectionism scale and in the direction Males.
